Sherdog.com is reporting Andrei Arlovski has inked a multi-fight, 16-month contract to join the San Jose-based organization. Arlovski will face former EliteXC champion Antonio Silva on a yet-to-be announced May 15th event in St. Louis, MO.
Arlovski owns a respectable 15-7 pro MMA record, however hasn’t been seen in a mixed martial arts fight since getting knocked out by Brett Rogers at “Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields” last June.
Silva had won six of his last seven contests prior to dropping his last fight to Fabricio Werdum at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers” in November. The defeat was a costly one as Werdum appears to have cemented himself as Fedor Emelianenko’s next opponent – the two heavyweights are expected to headline this May 15th fight card.
