In case you missed it over the UFC 110 weekend, company co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta quietly confirmed that the highly anticipated light heavyweight scrap between former champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans will indeed headline the organization’s UFC 114 event on May 29th.
Fertitta initially told Yahoo! Sports that both fighters have now signed their contracts, with Rampage finally inking in Sydney, Australia on Friday.
Late Tuesday night, Rampage sent a stern Twitter message to his long-time foe.
“I’m knocking Rashad out May 29th!! It’s on!!,” Tweeted Jackson.
The bitter rivals were originally slated to fight at UFC 107 after completing their assignments as coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights,” however Rampage opted to turn his back on MMA and accept the role of B.A. Baracus in the movie remake of “The A-Team.”
UFC 114 is expected to take place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
