MMAJunkie.com is reporting that the two newest additions to the UFC’s welterweight division, Jason High (9-2) and Charlie Brenneman (10-1), will square off at UFC Fight Night 21. The two will compete on the un-televised preliminary portion of the card, which takes place on March 31 at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Affliction and DREAM veteran Jason High last fought during DREAM’s welterweight grand prix where he lost in the finals to Marius Zaromskis by a brutal head kick knockout. His only other loss came via knockout against Strikeforce top contender Jay Hieron in January of 2009. He holds notable wins over Kevin Burns and Andre Galvao. “The Kansas City Bandit” has reportedly signed a four fight contract with the UFC.
Proes Vs. Joes’ inaugural winner Charlie Brenneman has only lost once in his MMA career, to current UFC fighter John Howard. His last fight was a TKO win over George Sheppard at “Mason Dixon Showdown 2″. Brenneman often trains at Matt Hughes’ H.I.T. Squad gym.
UFC Fight Night 21 will feature a headlining bout between perennial lightweight contender Kenny Florian and Pride veteran Takanori Gomi.
