Charles Jebara, President of Tokyo Five Brand announced today that the company will sponsor Dan Miller and Phillipe “The Filipino Assassin” Nover for their upcoming fights at UFC 109 in Las Vegas, NV.
Miller (14-2-1), 28, will be going up against UFC veteran and southpaw Damian Maia on the main card of the event. This will be Miller’s first fight since he was awarded his black belt in Brazlilian jiu-jitsu from his instructor Jamie Cruz.
“It’s no secret that I’m going to try and stand with Maia, and he will try and bring it to the ground. But my BJJ has gotten a lot a better and I’m happy to take it to the ground too. This should be an interesting fight,” Miller said.
Nover (9-3), 26, will be testing his skills against the tough striker Rob Emerson in a bout that promises to be a fight of the night candidate.
“I’m going to have some fun beating Rob Emerson,” Nover said.
Tokyo Five looks to continue its long time relationship with The Filipino Assassin.
“We love working with Phillipe on both a personal and professional level,” said Jebara. He exemplifies all of the virtues that we strive to achieve as people and as a company.”
Nover and Miller represent the most recent efforts of Tokyo Five Brand to sponsor the top fighters in MMA.
“We have begun 2010 with a bang. We want to support MMA and sponsor some of the best fighters in the world as well as the champions of tomorrow,” said Jebara.
