The UFC 114 card featuring the grudge match between Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson continues to take shape as MMAWeekly.com reports that a welterweight matchup between Yoshiyuki Yoshida (11-4) and Mike Guymon (11-3-1) has been scheduled for the preliminary section of fights.
A Judo player hailing from Japan, Yoshida has had mixed results in the Octagon. His two wins, over Jon “War Machine” Koppenhaver and Brandon Wolff, are offset by highlight-reel knockout losses to Josh Koscheck and Anthony Johnson. Yoshida will look to rebound from that KO by Johnson in his most recent fight by getting a win over Guymon.
California native Mike “The Joker” Guymon rode a five fight win streak into the Octagon only to be stymied by Canadian prospect Rory MacDonald via armbar in the first round.
In a fight likely to be a “loser goes home” affair you can look for whoever comes up short in this fight to have his UFC career come to an end.
