An electrifying heavyweight clash between Pat Barry and Gilbert Yvel is slated for UFC 115 on June 12th. The yet-to-be announced event is slated to take place at the GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The matchup was first reported by the Las Vegas Sun and has since been confirmed by multiple MMA media outlets.
Barry is coming off the biggest night of his professional career when he handed Antoni Hardonk a vicious TKO loss at UFC 104 in November. The win bumped his record to an impressive 5-1.
Yvel, who owns an impressive 36-14-1 pro record, made his Octagon debut earlier this month at UFC 108. Although the Brazilian was grateful to finally get an opportunity to compete on MMA’s biggest stage, he was hoping for a better result than the first round TKO loss Junior Dos Santos handed him.
UFC 115 will mark the organization’s debut in Vancouver, it’s believed former UFC light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz will complete their trilogy in the evening’s main event.
