Gegard Mousasi captured his Strikeforce light heavyweight crown three months ago and was last seen annihilating Gary Goodridge at “DYNAMITE!! 2009″ on New Year’s Eve.
Although Goodridge didn’t present Mousasi with the most challenging 1:34 of his fighting career, the former Dream middleweight champ indicated it might be a sign of things to come as he intends to stay active throughout 2010.
“I’m just trying to keep busy from New Year’s until 2011 New Year’s Eve,” Mousasi told the website over the weekend. “Every fight won’t be top competition, so there will be some fighters that maybe are less fighters than others, but I want to stay busy and I’m going to fight a lot this year.”
It is being reported that Strikeforce is considering having Mousasi make his first title defense against Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal on their second CBS broadcast on April 17th.
Mousasi holds a dominant 28-2-1 professional record and is perfect through his last 15 bouts.
