Although the hotly-rumored lightweight contest between Kenny Florian and Japanese import Takanori Gomi still hasn’t been officially announced, it has not prevented Gomi from predicting the fight’s dramatic outcome.
“By knockout in the first round,” Gomi told Kamipro.com* on how he intended to end Florian’s “UFC Fight Night 21″ evening.
Although “The Fireball Kid” is a modest .500 over his last four bouts, Gomi is confident he’ll make quite the splash in his UFC debut.
“I’m preparing well and I will not have problems adapting to the Octagon,” Gomi said, as translated by FightersOnly. “Mr. Florian is a fighter with good skills, one of the best of its kind in the UFC. It is a good opponent for a good start. I make a good fight for the public and start a successful outcome.”
Despite the 31-5 record on Gomi’s resume, 14 of those wins came by way of the judges’ scorecards.
