UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida has just confirmed that the organization has opted to push back his highly anticipated rematch with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua from May 1st to May 8th.
“Now confirming what I said. The next fight has been [rescheduled] for May 8th because of a boxe fight in May 1st,” Machida Tweeted.
UFC president Dana White all but assured MMA fans that if the Floyd Mayweather vs. Shane Mosely boxing fight does go down on May 1st in Las Vegas, which is highly probable, the UFC would in fact move UFC 113 to the following weekend in order to maximize pay-per-view buys.
UFC 113 will take place inside the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
