In a move that makes sense, original winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” Diego Sanchez has confirmed that he will move back up to the welterweight division on his Twitter account earlier this evening.
“YES IM GOING BACK TO WELTERWEIGHT IM LOVING MY NEW DIET.I WANT KOS OR FITCH BUT ANY TOP GUY WILL DO JUST WANT TO GIVE U FANS THE BEST FIGHT,” Sanchez wrote.
Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch were the two losses that caused Sanchez to drop to lightweight in the first place and it seems as though he hasn’t forgotten about it.
His recent loss to BJ Penn forced Sanchez’s hand as he was well aware that the odds of, one, getting another crack at Penn were slim to none, and two, the odds of him beating Penn were even slimmer.
Sanchez apparently would also welcome a return bout to 170lbs. with Nate Diaz, who has talked about moving up but hasn’t made any announcement as of yet.
“I hear your going up too 170 too i would love to welcome you to welterweight lets make it happen,” Sanchez tweeted to Nate Diaz.
