UFC Middleweight Michael Bisping took a brief break from training to write a blog entry that was published in The Daily Telegraph. In the blog, Bisping noted that he is training with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson for his bout with Wanderlei Silva at UFC 110.
“It is great to have Rampage back at the gym,” Bisping wrote. “He’s a great friend and I am very grateful to have his input and support during this camp.”
Bisping said that he is looking forward to getting Rampage’s “insider perspective” on Wanderlei during their training sessions this week. Rampage has a heated past with Silva, most recently scoring a first-round knockout over “The Axe Murderer” at UFC 92 after being knocked out by Silva twice before.
“Rampage and Wanderlei have shared a legendary series of fights,” Bisping wrote. “And I am very much looking forward to getting the inside scoop on Silva and making it two-all in the battle of Wanderlei vs. the Wolf’s Lair Gym.”
Bisping does admit that training with powerhouse Jackson has been tough. But, the former Ultimate Fighter winner expects his intense training sessions to pay off.
“Believe me, getting out of bed early on a winter’s morning knowing you are going to spend the day getting punched in the gob by Rampage isn’t the world’s greatest feeling. However, come fight time I will be very happy to have had the experience.”
Bisping will face Silva at UFC 110 on February 21, 2010 from the the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Other bouts on the card include Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez and Joe Stevenson vs. George Sotiropoulos.
