UFC 110 may be a month away, but the pre-fight banter between middleweights Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping has already begun.
Rumors recently circulated that Bisping said that Silva was scared to fight him at UFC 110. In response, Silva reportedly laughed and denied being scared of the 30-year old British fighter. Bisping recently released a video blog addressing Silva’s comments.
“He says he is not scared of me – of course he is not scared of me, he has fought some of the biggest names in the world but make no mistake, I am not scared of him either,” said Bisping. “I think it’s a very winnable fight for me. I am going to go out there and give it my best and I plan on winning in Australia.”
Bisping does admit that fighting Wanderlei is a huge honor for him, since “The Axe Murderer” is one of his favorite fighters.
“I have got the greatest respect for Wanderlei Silva,” Bisping stated. “Early on in my career I used to watch a lot of [him] back in PRIDE, he has always been one of my favorite fighters and I have got nothing but respect for the guy so to be fighting a legend like Wanderlei Silva for me is a great honor.”
Bisping will face Silva at UFC 110 on February 21, 2010 from the the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Other bouts on the card include Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez and Joe Stevenson vs. George Sotiropoulos.
