Bobby Lashley Meets Jimmy Ambriz At "Strikeforce: Miami"

A day after the Florida State Boxing Commission denied Yohan Banks the right to stand opposite Bobby Lashley at “Strikeforce: Miami,” reports are surfacing that Jimmy Ambriz has agreed to step-in on just 15 day’s notice to meet the TNA star. has confirmed the heavyweight contest with a source close to one of the fighters, however no official word from Strikeforce regarding the matchup.

Ambriz, who holds a less than impressive 14-12-1 record, is a former King of the Cage super heavyweight champion and was last seen getting submitted by former UFC heavyweight top contender Jeff Monson at Total Combat 33 in July.

Lashley will be making his highly anticipated Strikeforce debut inside the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on the January 30th card, and although the former All-American wrestler doens’t have too much MMA experience, the work he has put in at American Top Team has clearly paid dividends in his last two scraps as they both ended in first round submissions.
