Dana White Says Steve Cantwell May Never Fight Again

As we reported earlier this week, the UFC 108 curse struck again as the UFC pulled the light heavyweight bout between Steve Cantwell and Vladimir Matyushenko from this weekend’s UFC 108 event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Tuesday night.

Cantwell was forced off of the card due to an undisclosed medical problem. The issue seems to be serious enough to possibly end his career.

“Just like 97 other fights in the last couple of months, that one fell apart,” UFC President Dana White said of the bout at the UFC 108 pre-fight press conference. “Cantwell has some medical problems and he might not ever fight again.”

When pressed to provide details, White simply stated, “I’d rather not, I’d rather you ask him.”

With that bout off of the card, here is the revised lineup for this weekend’s card:

Preliminary Bouts:

Vladimir Matyushenko vs. TBD
Rafaello Oliveira vs. John Gunderson
Jake Ellenberger vs. Mike Pyle
Mark Munoz vs. Ryan Jensen
