The Nevada State Athletic Commission has just released the official numbers for The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale, and they aren’t too shabby. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson helped the UFC pack 1,791 fans inside The Pearl at The Palms Casino and Resort on December 5th.
According NSAC Executive Director, Keith Kizer, 1,310 of the 1,791 fans actually paid for their seats, while 481 tickets were issued as “comps.” Unfortunately for the world’s biggest MMA show, 355 tickets went untouched.
The total live gate for the show was $503, 600, a slight drop from the $504, 350 that was initially reported during the post-fight presser.
Roy Nelson took home the highly coveted six-figure UFC contract by knocking out Jackson Submission-trained fighter Brendan Schaub in the first round of their contest.
In the night’s main evet, Jon Jones was controversially handed his first career loss when he was disqualified for landing a couple north-south elbow shots to Matt Hamill’s mug. Jones had been dominating much of the first round before throwing his illegal shots.
