Just days after his crushing loss to BJ Penn at UFC 107, Diego Sanchez tweeted that he is ready for a rematch against the man who dominated him during their bout. “The Nightmare” lost to Penn via doctor stoppage at 2:37 in round 5 of the fight, resulting in a TKO loss for the 27-year old fighter.
Sanchez later posted on his Twitter account that he “hated losing” and wants another shot at UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn.
“To be honest I’m really f’nnnn pissed off,” he tweeted. “I hate losing and am more hungry for victory than ever… All I can think about is working my way back to earn another shot at BJ Penn. My dream has changed. It is no longer just become UFC champion. It is to fight BJ Penn again. I will put my heart and soul into this!!! I’m on a mission now. All you doubters shut up and watch me!”
Sanchez will have to wait for another bout with Penn. While no date has been set for Sanchez’s next fight, a bout with fellow The Ultimate Fighter Season 1 contestant Kenny Florian or the winner of the Gray Manard vs. Nick Diaz bout are likely.
