Tyson Griffin became another victim of the UFC 108 curse, as he joins Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Carlos Condit on the ever-growing list of fighters who were slated for the card that have had to withdraw due to injuries.
Sherdog.com is reporting that Griffin suffered an injury while training yesterday. While the injury was not disclosed, Miller’s manager told Sherdog that it wasn’t that serious, and Griffin would be able to resume training sometime in the second half of January.
Meanwhile, MMAWeekly.com is reporting that Sean Sherk will be promoted to the main card to face Miller. Sherk was originally scheduled to face Rafaello Oliveira at the event in a preliminary bout, and the UFC is expected to find a replacement for Oliveira.
UFC 108 will be taking place on January 2, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The event is headlined by a light-heavyweight clash between Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva.
