Kimbo Slice was victorious in his UFC debut, as he defeated Houston Alexander at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale via unanimous decision earlier tonight.
“Thank God, man,” Kimbo stated after the fight. “It feels good.”
The fight got off to a rocky start, as Alexander spent the entire first round circling Kimbo while Kimbo tried to close the distance.
Slice managed to take control in the second round as he scored multiple takedowns on Alexander and attempted to finish the fight on the ground. At one point, Kimbo attempted a rear-naked choke, however was unable to fully secure it. Kimbo noted that he was working on his ground game at ATT, but still has work to do.
“I want to thank ATT,” Slice said in regards to his improved ground game. “I’m still working on it, it’s not easy.”
Kimbo went on to note that he felt good winning his UFC debut, and that his experience on The Ultimate Fighter was a positive for his career.
“I feel good (to win in the UFC),” he said. “The house was a good experience. It was more mental than anything.”
