M-1 Global announced early Monday morning that preliminary numbers for the “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers” event showed that 25 million people worldwide saw WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko defeat Brett Rogers via a second-round TKO.
“We are thrilled with the tremendous viewership figures that the Fedor vs Rogers event generated overseas,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said about the tremendous numbers.
Even though the U.S. numbers alone weren’t the largest in MMA history, the worldwide figures proved how strong Fedor’s name is across the globe. That’s exactly the reason why Strikeforce wanted to partner up with M-1 Global.
According to the press release, 16 million homes in Russia saw their champion continue his path towards being the greatest fighter of all-time.
