While it was expected, UFC heavyweight Houston Alexander confirmed that he will be facing The Ultimate Fighter 10 contestant Kimbo Slice on Dec. 5th in Las Vegas.
“Yeah, Kevin Ferguson. On December 5th,” Alexander said on 92.3 FM Todd N Tyler’s.
“The fight was presented to us and we didn’t even hesitate.”
Both fighters have similar fighting styles, as both are well known for their strong standup and less than stellar ground game.
“I’m practicing boxing, takedown defense, it’s just crazy,” he said. “I plan to peak at the time of the fight and work out the morning of the fight to get my blood flowing.”
Both fighters have something to prove, as Slice is seeking a win in his first UFC appearance, and it’s been over 2 years since Alexander last celebrated a victory in the UFC. Alexander says he’s excited for the challenge.
“Before a fight, I don’t get nervous, I get anxious. I listen to Rage Against the Machine. I just want to get in there and start fighting. I’m really excited.”
The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale airs December 5th on Spike TV.
