UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is anxious to get back in the octagon after undergoing elbow surgery, and is threatening to strangle his doctor if the physician doesn’t give him clearance to fight.
“I’m not being allowed to train, I’m trying to strangle the doctor,” Silva joked with Tatame magazine. “I have to do the physical therapy, and give it time. When I have everything right, I’ll be back in training.”
Silva was expected to face top contender Vitor Belfort at UFC 109 on February 6, 2010, but the “Spider” isn’t sure if he will be cleared by his physician to fight.
“I do not know; it is the doctor who will decide these things – but I am here.” he said.
In the meantime, Randy Couture and Mark Coleman have verbally agreed to a bout to main event UFC 109, making it the first time that two UFC hall of famers have faced each other.
