The UFC 105 show which aired free on Spike TV this past Saturday did a 1.9 cable rating and 2.9 million viewers, which has to be considered a disappointment. The show peaked with 3.7 million viewers for the main event bout between Randy Couture and Brandon Vera.
Internally, many in the UFC were hoping for the event to top the Nov. 7 Strikeforce CBS card earlier this month, which did 4.04 million viewers for a 2.5 household rating. That show peaked with 5.46 million viewers for the main event between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers.
Spike TV looked at the bright side, issuing a press release noting that they topped the Strikeforce card “in every key male demo,” including men 18-34, 18-24, 25-34 and 18-49.
