Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers
Only in MMA do you see the fans soundly behind a Russian against an American. The ovation for Fedor was deafening, while Rogers was roundly booed.
Round 1: Fedor threw a wild left jab which missed early, while Rogers connected with a jab. Fedor was able to take Rogers down, but Rogers was able to make his way up and pressed Fedor against the cage. Fedor’s nose is busted from Rogers’ jab from earlier. Rogers kept Fedor against the cage, but Fedor was able to break free. Back in the center of the cage, Fedor connected with a big left that rocked Rogers, and took Rogers down to the ground. Rogers was able to reverse and get full mount on Fedor. Rogers started pounding Fedor, and Fedor went for an arm-bar, but Rogers broke free. Fedor was able to get back on top of Rogers and attempted an arm triangle. Rogers was able to get Fedor off, Fedor stood up and threw a big punch to Rogers on the ground, which Rogers dodged. Great first round. FightLine.com scores the round 10-9 for Fedor.
Round 2: A “USA” chant broke out, drowning out the “Fedor” chant. Fedor pinned Rogers against the cage and threw several wild punches, which were blocked by Rogers. Rogers managed to reverse it and press Fedor against the cage, but Fedor was able to push him off. Back in the center of the cage, Fedor nailed Rogers with a huge right hook right on the button that knocked Rogers right out! Fedor jumped on him and landed a couple of extra shots as the referee waved him off.
