Todd Duffee Leaves American Top Team for Xtreme Couture

Just a couple days after it was announced that up-and-coming UFC heavyweight Todd Duffee sustained an undisclosed injury that would force him out of his December 12th fight, it was announced today that he has also decided to leave the talented American Top Team camp to pursue his college education in Nevada.

The news was confirmed today by a spokesperson at ATT:

Todd was accepted for college out there in Nevada and moved out there to pursue that, obviously he needed to train and it was not practical for him to stay with ATT. But it was no drama or anything, it wasn’t one of those kind of splits. We wish Todd all the best for the future.

According to the report, Duffee will now join Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas to perfect his MMA skills with the likes of Forrest Griffin, Gina Carano, Gray Maynard and, of course Randy “The Natural” Couture.

Duffee recently pulled himself out of his UFC 107 bout against Paul Buentello due to an undisclosed injury.

Duffee was riding high after his seven-second knockout of Tim Hague at UFC 102. Following the impressive spanking, Duffee was tagged as the UFC’s “Next Big Thing” in the heavyweight class, however it looks like it will be a while before he gets back inside the Octagon.

But one thing is for sure, once he makes his return, it will not be under the American Top Team banner.
