UFC 104: Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher

Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher

Round 1: Stevenson landed a leg kick early. They traded a couple of shots, which cut Fisher open above the eye. Stevenson pressed Fisher against the cage and tried to take him down, but Fisher was able to successfully stuff it. Stevenson kept Fisher against the cage, before Herb Dean separated them. The blood from the cut over Fisher’s eye is getting into his eye, and is visibly bothering him. Stevenson was able to get Fisher to the ground on his back and tried to sync the hooks in, but Fisher was able to block it. Stevenson was able to land several hard shots as the round came to a close. scores the round 10-9 for Stevenson.

Round 2: Stevenson was able to get a takedown early in the round. Stevenson attempted a leg lock, and then tried to get into full mount, but Fisher was able to block him and stay in half guard. Stevenson dropped several short elbows to re-open Fisher’s cut. Stevenson got side control, trapped Fisher’s arm and then started dropping un-answered short elbows until Fisher tapped.

Stevenson remarked that he got the idea for pinning the arm from his sisters, who used to do that to him when he was a kid.
