Strikeforce has signed undefeated lightweight Lyle Beerbohm (13-0) to a multi-year deal. MMAJunkie.com broke the story of Beerbohm’s signing earlier today.
“I’m glad the negotiation process is over, and now it’s time to focus 100 percent on training and fighting,” Beerbohm told MMAjunkie.com. “I’m excited to move forward.”
The signing is the first step in Beerbohm realizing his ultimate goal, which he told FightLine.com was to be the Strikeforce lightweight champion.
“My only goal is to be the champ,” Beerbohm told FightLine.com this past summer. “I want to be Strikeforce’s champ. I love Scott Coker, he’s a great guy. I love Strikeforce and that’s the organization I want to fight for and be their champ.”
Beerbohm, who holds notable victories over Duane Ludwig and Rafaello Oliveira in the organization, last fought at Arena Rumble: Guida vs. Horn in September, defeating Josh Martin via TKO in the first round. Beerbohm will fight next in November, facing Alonzo Martinez in the main event of ArenaRumble II: Beerbohm vs. Martinez on Nov. 28 in Spokane, Washington.
