The UFC has announced that light heavyweights Matt Hamill and Jon Jones will be facing off at “The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale” on December 5th. Jones is one of the UFC’s fastest up-and-coming stars, so posting a victory over a competitor the caliber of Hamill will certainly help his climb.
Hamill is coming back from a knee injury that forced him out of his UFC 102 bout against Brandon Vera. Prior to that, the wrestler was last seen knocking Mark Munoz out cold this past March at UFC 96.
Jones is a highly touted 205-lb. fighter representing Greg Jackson’s famed camp in New Mexico. Although the 21-year-old’s MMA skills are still raw, it certainly doesn’t hurt to train against the likes of Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine and UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre.
The winner of the fight will undoubtedly put themselves on the map in a very top-heavy UFC light heavyweight division.
