A source close to the situation has told 5thRound.com that former UFC fighter Vinicius “Pezao” Magalhaes’ opponent for the upcoming Carolina Crown II event has been changed to Jason Guida, brother of UFC lightweight Clay. Magalhaes was originally slated to face Lance Evans, who just so happens to be Rashad Evans’ brother.
The heavyweight bout is scheduled for October 24th as part of Carolina Fight Promotion’s Carolina Crown II.
Magalhaes is best known for his stint on The Ultimate Fighter reality series where he made it to the finals, but fell just short to eventual winner Ryan Bader at The Ultimate Fighter 8 Finale.
From there, Magalhaes lost a controversial unanimous decision to Eliot Marshall at UFC 97: Redemption, which prompted the UFC to release the skilled Jiu-Jitsu fighter.
