Former UFC light heavyweight campion Forrest Griffin has been M.I.A. since his humiliating loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 101 and his post-fight meltdown. Many people have been curious as to why Griffin reacted the way he did following the fight, but Griffin recently told Dave Ferra of MMA30.com that there was no reason for early exit.
“I have no idea what happened” Griffin said. “I was on ‘ludes. I don’t remember. What happened?”
Griffin, who appears to have retained his since of humor, went on to address his Usain Bolt impression directly after he fell victim to Silva.
“There’s no reason. That’s stupid. Anytime I lose a fight, that’s what I’m doing from now on, there’s nothing to say. It’s not about talking. I thought this was a fighting sport.
“It just gets old, people putting hopes and dreams on you, telling you they put money on you, saying, ‘You’re my kid’s idol.’ I don’t want to hear that sh*t. Get Tom Brady on your kid’s wall.”
