The UFC ended their 15-year hiatus in Oklahoma last Wednesday as UFC Fight Night 19 drew 9,490 spectators inside the Cox Convention Center for a live gate of $577,997. The Spike TV broadcast was headlined by Nate Diaz’s nasty guillotine choke of Melvin Guillard in the second round of their bout.
These numbers are significantly off from the preliminary numbers that UFC president Dana White mentioned following last week’s event. The outspoken promoter said that the early numbers were closer to 7,500 fans for $650,000 at the door.
Of the 9,490 fans in attendance, 6,687 paid for their tickets, while 2,803 were issued complimentary seats. Regardless, the show ranks as the organization’s second most attended UFC Fight Night event as it just lost to it’s UFC Fight Night 18 predecessor by a mere 777 fans.
