OK, so the title is misleading. Sherdog is reporting that Kim Couture and Kerry Vera have verbally agreed to face each other in a 135-pound women’s bout for Strikeforce this November. The report notes that both fighter’s camps have confirmed the bout, and contracts will be signed shortly.
The fight between Kim Couture – who was married to UFC Hall Of Famer Randy Couture – and Kerry Vera – married to UFC light heavyweight Brandon Vera – will reportedly take place on November 20th, less than a week after Randy Couture faces Brandon Vera at UFC 105 on November 14th.
Both ladies have only a handful of fights under their belt, as Couture is 1-1, while Vera is 1-0. Couture is coming off of a first round TKO victory over Lina Kvokov at Strikeforce: Destruction last November, while Vera is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Leslie Smith in her debut for Bellator Fighting Championships last May.
