As noted yesterday in our “Quick Shots”, after requesting and receiving his release from Strikeforce, veteran heavyweight Paul Buentello is reportedly returning to the Octagon at UFC 107 to face fast-rising fighter Todd Duffee.
MMAJunkie.com is reporting that verbal agreements have been made by both parties, and that bout contracts should be signed and submitted shortly.
Buentello left the UFC in early 2006 and has garnered off an impressive 6-1 record since his exit. His sole loss came in his Strikeforce title fight against current heavyweight champion Alistair Overeeem in February of 2007.
Duffee has been on a nationwide self-promotional tour since setting the UFC knockout record against Tim Hague at UFC 102. It took the him all of seven seconds to put Hague to sleep.
