As Tito Ortiz prepares for his fight with Mark Coleman at UFC 106, he has found an interesting training partner to help him get back in shape in Cristiane “Cris Cyborg” Santos.
“I was wrestling with Cris Cyborg,” Ortiz recently said on his vlog. “She’s a tough chick, man. For a girl, I expected her not to be so damn tough.”
145-lb Santos is coming off a high profile win over Gina Carano last month, and proved to be a worthy training partner for the 205-pound Ortiz.
“We were just wrestling on and I went for a guillotine and she slipped out of it. When she slipped out of it I went straight on to a triangle. When I locked in the triangle she picked me up and slammed me on the ground and I had no pain, nothing. I ended up choking her,” Ortiz stated.
The “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is recovering from back surgery and will be making his highly anticipated return to the UFC at UFC 106, which takes place on November 21st from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. The event is headlined by a UFC heavyweight title defense by Brock Lesnar against top contender Shane Carwin.
