"NY Badass" Phil Baroni Makes Octagon Return At UFC 106

The UFC recently signed the popular “NY Badass” Phil Baroni in a deal to bring the Hammer House product back to the octagon for the first time since a loss to fellow New Yorker Pete Sell in February of 2005. Most recently with the Strikeforce promotion, Baroni is looking to resuscitate his career after losing to Joe Riggs in his last bout with that promotion.

According to Inside Fights, per sources close to both camps, Phil Baroni will join his teammate Mark “The Hammer” Coleman at UFC 106 when he makes his UFC return against TUF Season Seven winner Amir Sadollah in a welterweight matchup.

As for Baroni’s opponent, Amir Sadollah has had hardships of his own since winning the popular Spike reality show. He was forced to withdraw fom a couple of matchups following his TUF win due to injury and was most recently dispatched via first-round TKO by Johnny Hendricks at UFC 101.

In the UFC 106 bout, both fighters will most recently be looking to rebound and a victory by either fighter will be telling as to which one, either Baroni or Sadollah, will continue to make headway into the 170 pound division.

Below is rumored card for UFC 106, scheduled November 21, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
