UFC fans who are used to seeing Quinton “Rampage” Jackson pummel his opponents in the octagon will now get to see the former UFC light heavyweight champion in a new role – as B.A. Baracus in the upcoming A-Team movie, a role immortalized by Mr. T.
Studio executives confirmed to The Sun that Jackson will be playing the role of Baracus, and will be working alongside cast members Liam Neeson and The Hangover’s Bradley Cooper who will be playing Col. John “Hannibal” Smith and Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck, respectively.
Though Jackson has had several small acting parts in the past, this will be his first major movie role. Jackson is following in the steps of other major UFC stars, including Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture, who have garnered success in Hollywood thanks to their careers in the UFC.
The A-Team movie is currently in production and is set to be released on June 11, 2010. Before fans will get to see Rampage in the film, they will be able to catch him on season ten of The Ultimate Fighter, opposite rival Rashad Evans. TUF Season 10 premieres September 16th on Spike TV, and features former EliteXC star Kimbo Slice and a slew of ex-NFL heavyweights.
