Tito Ortiz sure is making the rounds with the media letting the world know he’s back. Ortiz recently spoke with KLAC-AM in Los Angeles about his comeback, Fedor in the UFC, and his desire for a rematch with Chuck Liddell.
Speaking on whether or not he thought we’d ever see Fedor fight in the UFC, Ortiz said, “I’m not sure if that’s gonna happen. Fedor doesn’t want to fight the best in the world, and that’s bad for his career. He’s got people around him telling him what to do. He should fight in the UFC and fight the best in the world.
That’s what I did. I want to fight the best in the world, that’s what my fans deserve.”
When asked who he thought were some fighters on the rise to keep an eye on, Tito threw out some interesting names, one of which was himself. “There’s that one guy who’s been around a long time, Tito Ortiz I think. He’s coming back.
But of course there’s Kendall Grove who’s a really tough guy, Justin McCully is a tough up-and-coming heavyweight. And I’m always looking for new fighters to train with and join Team Punishment.”
Tito was also asked who he thought was the toughest opponent he ever faced, and quite surprisingly, he gave love to the “Iceman”. “I would have to say Chuck Liddell. I made a few mistakes in both fights and he beat me twice. I gotta say it was Chuck.
I would love a rematch, but too bad he’s retired. A rematch would be nice and I think the fans would love it.”
