The WEC has announced that four former world champions will be involved in the pre-fight activities for WEC 43 in Youngstown, Ohio on September 2nd.
Chuck Liddell, Frank Mir, Urijah Faber and Jens Pulver are scheduled to be in attendance for the fights and interact with WEC fans. In addition, Mir, Faber and Pulver will conduct a special Q&A session at the Covelli Centre on September 1st, the site of the next evening’s show.
“For our first trip to Ohio, we wanted to make sure fans were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” WEC vice president Peter Dropick stated. “To attend a title fight is a special experience. To have four of the best fighters of all-time also in attendance makes this an absolute can’t-miss event.”
Although the organization didn’t announce the exact time these festivities will be jumping off, it’s safe to assume it will be the lead-in for, or follow-up to, the night’s official weigh-in ceremonies.
UFC Hall of Famer Liddell will be signing autographs on the main concourse at the Covelli Centre on fight day between 4PM and 6PM local time. The first preliminary bout will begin following Liddell’s autograph session.
WEC 43 will be headlined by an interim lightweight title fight between Donald Cerrone and Benson Henderson, which will be one of four bouts aired on Versus Network.
