“I would love a rematch with Matt Hughes,” Matt Serra recently told CBS Sports. His first fight against Hughes left a bad taste in his mouth, and he’s hoping for a shot at redemption.
Hughes and Serra battled for three rounds at UFC 98 in May, resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Hughes. Many called it a lackluster bout, but in the end, all three judges scored it 29-28 in favor of Hughes.
But Serra is adamant that the judges got it wrong.
“I believe I won the first fight,” Serra stated. “I even have the name for the next fight. They should put us together and label it ‘Unfinished Business.’”
UFC officials have yet to announce a rematch, but if they do, expect that both fighters will not want to leave the decision in the judges’ hands this time around.
