Brock Lesnar may not be the only former WWE superstar to make an impact in today’s UFC heavyweight division. UFC President Dana White told CBS Sports that he is keeping his eye out on former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley.
“People have been asking me about him,” said White. “Yes, we’re watching him.”
Bobby Lashley recently kept his undefeated streak alive with a first round TKO victory over Japanese fighting legend Bob Sapp at the “Ultimate Chaos” PPV in June. He has since signed with the TNA pro wrestling outfit, and will wrestle for the organization while competing in MMA.
Lashley recently admitted to Yahoo! Sports that his ultimate goal is to sign with the UFC.
“When I go over there I want to be a top, top level guy,” Lashley stated. “I want talks of me fighting the champ when I get over there. I want them to say this guy’s really good.”
Lashley will next fight on October 3, 2009 for Prize Fight Promotions. He will face Ron Waterman, who once had a development deal with the WWE, but failed to make it on the main roster.
