The heavyweight bout between former IFL stud Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley, which was originally slated to take place this weekend at Affliction: Trilogy, has been signed for UFC 104 on October 24th inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Rothwell holds an impressive 30-6 record, taking 16 of his last 18 fights. He rebounded nicely from a third round knockout loss to Andrei Arlovski at Affliction: Banned last July to sub Chris Guillen with elbows in the first round of their Adrenaline MMA II bout last December.
Gormley was an NAIA All-American Wrestler for Lindenwood University. He holds a perfect 6-0 mark, however that has been against the who’s-who-is-this of MMA. Rothwell will clearly be the toughest test of his young career.
