The Nevada State Athletic Commission has officially confirmed that 10,871 fans packed into the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas to witness UFC 100. The event marks the organization’s second largest grosser as 9,793 paid tickets tallied a live gate of $5,128,490.
Although UFC 100 went down as the most hyped show in mixed martial arts history, it still fell short of the light heavyweight rematch between then-champ Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz at UFC 66 back in December of 2006. However, that event was held inside Vegas’ MGM Grand Arena, which holds a few thousand more seats than the Mandalay Bay Event Center.
UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz II attracted 12,191 fans to earn a company record gate of $5,397,300.
