With lightweight sensation Eddie Alvarez slamming the breaks on a proposed Dream.11 match-up against Gesias “JZ” Cavalacante, “JZ” states that although Eddie wants out, he’s still a-go.
“They offered me Eddie Alvarez and I was excited, but it seems that he’s injured or had some other problem and won’t be able to fight in the event,” Cavalcante told TATAME.com. “I’m confirmed in DREAM.11, but I still have no opponent.”
Alvarez has had a busy past few months as he recently was married and, as expected, impressively ran through Bellator’s hectic tournament to capture their first-ever lightweight title.
Cavalcante is one of the division’s most talked about youngsters, however he hasn’t collected a win since September of 2007. The American Top Team fighter has gone 0-2 with one No Contest in three previous Dream appearances. He had rolled off 13 consecutive wins prior to this current skid.
The yet-to-be-announced DREAM.11 event will take place sometime in September and will reportedly feature the semifinals of DREAM’s “Super Hulk” tournament, as well as the third round of their Featherweight Grand Prix.
