Tito Ortiz Speaks Out On Future In The Fight Game

Former UFC champion and current free agent Tito Oritz was in Pittsburgh, PA this past weekend to attend the city’s first ever MMA event, UCFC: Rumble on the Rivers. Oritz took a little time away from promoting the “Tito Ortiz” brand in the northeast to sit down for an interview with Justin LaBar of Trib Total Media. Here is some of what the Huntington Beach Bad Boy had to say:

“I’m starting my own organization with StrikeForce called Punishment Fighting Championship, not just as a promoter, but I’ll be competing as well,” Oritz said. Once again hinting at a future deal with StrikeForce.

When asked whether or not the fans would ever see Oritz back in the octagon with UFC, Oritz simply stated, “Not as long as Dana White is the president.”

Oritz was also asked of his purpose in attending these types of smaller events around the country. “I’m not just a fighter. I’m a brand and a businessman. That’s why I come to these events. The guys that are 2-0 and 3-0 are the next superstars, and hopefully I can help build them into superstars. I know the business, I know the marketing, and I can give them the opportunity like I did to Matt Hamill, Kendall Grove, and Michael Bisping.”

Ortiz also offered a bit of his sage wisdom by saying that, “People want to see entertainment, just as long as you bring the fight game with it.”

Who else knows that rule better than Tito Ortiz himself?
