The UFC has tagged it a ”fight fan’s dream event,” and they are certainly doing their share to hold up their end of that statement. The two-day weekend event kicks off on Friday, July 10th, with the UFC’s first-ever Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas and will be capped off with the highly anticipated UFC 100 event on Saturday evening.
The Fan Expo, which will be held on Friday and Saturday, features more than 30 current and former UFC, PRIDE and WEC fighters.
Tickets are currently available for the event on the 2009 UFC Fan Expo’s official website. Advance-purchase tickets are $30 for July 10th, $35 for July 11th or $50 for a two-day pass.
Among those in attendance will be UFC Hall of Famers Royce Gracie and Randy Couture, as well as current light heavyweight title holder Lyoto Machida and former champions Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Chuck Liddell, and Sean Sherk.
The following UFC fighters are also expected to make cameo appearances at the expo: Junie Browning, Steve Cantwell, Shane Carwin, Marcus Davis, Nate Diaz, Escudero, Kenny Florian, Goodridge, Tyson Griffin, Clay Guida, Dustin Hazelett, Heath Herring, Keith Jardine, Anthony Johnson, Martin Kampmann, Josh Koscheck, Joe Lauzon, Nate Marquardt, Gray Maynard, Karo Parisyan, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Diego Sanchez, Wanderlei Silva and Mike Swick.
The WEC will also be in the house as Jospeh Benavidez, Brian Bowles, Donald Cerrone, Urijah Faber, Leonard Garcia, Ben Henderson, Alex Karalexis and Jens Pulver have all confirmed for autograph signings throughout the weekend.
In addition, the UFC will be hosting MMA demonstrations, fan-inspired special events, training and development sessions, as well as “Grapplers Quest” where some of the world’s best ground-guys square off in a game of tap.
Former TUF 8 finalist Vinny Magalhaes and former UFC heavyweight top contender Jeff Monson are scheduled to meet on the mat that weekend as well.
