Bas Rutten, who recently admitted to calling Kimbo Slice an asshole, weighed in on his former protege joining season ten of The Ultimate Fighter.
“You really find out from a fighter, if he’s a real fighter, if he comes back after a loss,” Bas noted during Inside MMA on Friday night. “If he does that, and he does well, then it’s going be very good for him.”
Rutten, who stopped training Kimbo last year when he claimed Kimbo stopped listening to him, went on to say that he admired the YouTube sensation for taking on the challenge of going on The Ultimate Fighter.
“He chooses to go to The Ultimate Fighter, that’s a big step for him,” the former UFC Heavyweight Champion stated. “I really admire that from him, that he took that step.”
Season ten of The Ultimate Fighter, featuring Kimbo Slice, will debut on Spike TV on September 16, 2009 following UFC Fight Night 19.
