Michael Bisping told The Sun today that he feels that his teammate at the Wolfslair academy, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has what it takes to beat newly crowned UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida.
“Machida looks great right now he’s finally stopping people. He’s not taking a lot of damage and he’s looking very, very impressive,” Bisping said. “He’ll be a tough fight for anyone but I’m sure we’ll help Rampage put together a good game plan when he comes to fight him.
“But I think there are a few people who could stop Machida,” Bisping continued. “He is very, very good and is a tough nut to crack but he’s certainly not unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination — Rampage could definitely do it.”
For the fight to happen, Jackson will first have to get past fellow Ultimate Fighter 10 coach Rashad Evans this December, and Machida will have to successfully defend his title against Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua this October.
