Bas Rutten, who helped prepare Benji Radach for his fight with Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Diaz on April 11th, said that he didn’t think that Radach had a good chance of getting his fight with Smith changed to a no-contest. Speaking on the most recent episode of Inside MMA on HDNet, Rutten said “I think it’s a little too late. What also happened [in addition to the early stoppage] was he got taken down and he got hit in the back of the head. But, you know, it’s unintentional so the referee’s not going to stop it.”
Rutten continued, “I’ve never, ever seen a fight get overruled, overturned to the other person so I don’t think it’s going to happen. I wish him luck, but it’s a hard thing to do.”
