* Former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at an Oakland A’s game on May 26, when the A’s face the Seattle Mariners. “I’m excited to throw out the first pitch at the A’s game,” Faber noted in a press release. “They are a great organization, and I’m looking forward to stepping foot on the mound at the (Oakland-Alameda County) Coliseum.”
* Joey Villasenor (26-6) said on a recent edition of MMAJunkie Radio that he will likely face Evangelista Santos (16-12) at Strikeforce’s June 6 event in St. Louis, MO. The event is headlined by former EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler facing former EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields.
* Thomas ‘Wildman’ Denny became the first fighter to not be able to knockout or submit the bully on last Sunday’s season finale of MTV’s Bully Beatdown, resulting in the bully leaving with the entire $10,000. Ouch. Denny is coming off of losses to Pat Miletich and Nick Diaz.
* Patrick Cote, whose loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 90 started Silva’s current two-fight streak of bad performances, recently spoke out about the Silva – Leites fight at UFC 97. In an interview with FightHype.com, Core called the fight “boring”. “At least I tried to engage with Silva,” Cote stated. “F***, I’m actually a little pissed.
