The losers of the two featured fights at WEC 40 will likely face each other at WEC 42. According to a report at MMAWeekly.com, bantamweights Jeff Curran and Takeya Mizugaki have verbally agreed to face each other at WEC 42 in August.
Mizugaki is coming off of a stellar performance in his fight of the night unanimous decision loss at WEC 40 to WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres. He was on a five-fight win streak prior to that loss.
Curran, on the other hand, is on a three-fight losing streak, coming off of losses to Joseph Benavidez (at WEC 40), Urijah Faber and Mike Thomas. A loss here may send Curran out of the promotion.
WEC is expected to announce the fight, as well as the date for WEC 42 soon. The card is expected to be headlined by WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres defending his title against No. 1 contender Brian Bowles. Stay tuned to FightLine.com for all the latest updates for WEC 42.
