A heavyweight fight between undefeated former Elite XC heavyweight Brett Rogers and fellow undefeated prospect Ron Humphries has been added to the complete fight card for Strikeforce’s April 11 event.
The heavyweight matchup will replace a scheduled welterweight fight between top 10 ranked welterweight Jake Shields and UFC veteran Joe Riggs. Shields will now be fighting Robbie Lawler in the main event of Strikeforce’s May event.
Humphries may be best known for being a contestant on BET’s “Iron Ring” reality show, where became known as a knockout artist. Humphries sports a 5-0 MMA record with his last win coming in December over Nick Thomas at an International Sport Combat Federation event.
Meanwhile, Rogers is coming off of a successful run under the Elite XC promotion, with wins over James Thompson and Ralph Kelly. Rogers last fought nearly a year ago on May 31st, where he picked up his final Elite XC win over Jon Murphy. Before Elite XC’s demise, Rogers had been seeking a Fight with Elite XC poster boy Kimbo Slice but the promotion has since folded faltered.
